Position Paper I Found Online

The position paper called Winter Cycling can be found at the website listed below. http://www.bicyclinglife.com/Recreation/wintercycling.htm
This was a great position paper and it kept me giggling all the way through. Cycling is best enjoyed in warm weather but there are a few daring souls who like it in the winter. The author provides us with information that will make a warm weather cyclists think twice. He first asks, “Why does cycling have a season”? This makes us wonder what in the world is he talking about most people would agree that this could be totally dangerous. Never mind the fact that it could be freezing out, you could get stuck in the snow or get hit by a plow. He speaks with confidence and pulls at the heartstrings of every cyclist that hates to put the bike up till next season. He prepares us with great information about clothing, tires, and safety issues and also makes us aware that drivers are kinder to winter cyclists.
He makes a good argument for why people who are interested or skeptical should try out winter cycling before they judge it. The author refers us to a site called 'Ice Bike' so we can get tips and see a photo on the front page that shows how it is done. With special tires and the proper gear he believes that all can come to love the sport. If you check out a survey that he referenced in his article you will be quick to notice some accidents, but almost all with minor injuries. He is making the plea that winter riding can be safer than in the other seasons. He provides tips on clothing, equipment and gives us a list of expectations that we should have.
This position paper is fun and interesting and any cyclists who happens upon it in the dead of the winter will smile and think of warmer days. Finding a topic that we are interested in online is easy and by typing the word position paper on the topic we choose (cycling) will immediately bring up a list of position papers on everyone’s beloved topic of cycling. The format is looser and easy to understand and catches the interest of those who love the sport. Because it is easy to find on-line you do not have to go sorting through a bunch of old magazines or papers at a library.
